8. What is the detection range of the CGS500 sensor?
The CGS500 sensors are designed to measure gas in the range 0-100% of the LEL
(Lower Explosive Limit)
The Lower Explosive Limit of a gas is the concentration of that gas, in air at which that gas becomes explosive. This concentration is different for each gas.
For example, the LEL of Methane is 5% by volume, while the LEL of propane is 2% by volume.
The CGS500 sensors are designed to monitor concentrations of combustible gases and vapours BEFORE they become explosive.
