7. What is meant by the term "T90" in relation to gas detectors?
T90 is a measurement of the response time of a gas detector.
Most gas detectors respond exponentially when gas is applied. Therefore to get a meaningful method of measuring the response time, the time taken to reach 90% of the applied concentration is used.
For example, if 100%LEL methane is applied to a CGS500 sensor, the T90 of the sensor is the time taken to indicate 90%LEL.
