1. What is an open collector output?
An "open collector" output is the collector terminal of a transistor available for the connection of external loads.
On Monicon's controllers the polarity of the open collector outputs is NPN and the load may be connected between the output and the positive (+) supply.
The maximum voltage is the DC supply voltage of the instrument (i.e. 12Vdc or 24Vdc) and the maximum current is 100mA.
